The Big Island is that "BIG".. !! There is ALOT of driving on the Big Island... and the island that has the most square footage of all the Hawaiian Islands. You can experience thirteen different climates on this island alone.. You can be snowboarding on Mauna Kea
and 3 hours later......
be surfing at the beach!! It is truly an amazing place!! This Big Island has soooooo much to offer from volcanoes to rain forests... to black and green sand beaches to valleys. We have traveled here to Hawaii for the last 25 years.. and we finally decided to move here in 2005. We just enjoyed the phenomenal weather all year round... and the AWESOME VIEWS..
the really friendly people.. and the just plain relaxed atmosphere..
I love to wake up late at night, when everyone is asleep or real early in the morning when its still very dark outside... and see the moon shine over the ocean and smell the plumerias blooming.. Also, I never realized but since our Big Island has an observatory .. and special dedicated telescopes viewing our island constantly there aren't many street lights, retail signage, or largely lit signs.. because the interfere with our observatory and its work.. sooo when you look up in the sky the stars are very bright in a deep dark black sky and you can see them like you're in a planetarium..!! It is truly amazing sight.
Each of our Hawaiian Islands have their own unique gifts of paradise to offer a visitor and/or a resident. We need to remember and never take for granted these beautiful gifts of natural beauty. I am truly thankful for every sunrise and every sunset.. I'm thankful to God for giving me this beautiful time to be able to live here.. and enjoy a real paradise.... !!Aloha & A Hui Hou!!!
